In Keeping with My Resolutions...

here is my second post for the month. For me, that is saying something. Although I really don't have all that much to say today.

My progress on the "52 Books in 52 Weeks" has been slow and steady. I finished New Moon last night. It was an enjoyable read, but I think I liked Twilight better. Really hard to say. I do plan to read the other two books in the series, but for now, I am starting The Eyre Affair by Jasper Fforde.

I am also making slow and steady progress on the knitting front. I am almost done with the cabled yoke portion of the Cable Luxe Tunic. I am using Woolease in the colorway "Seaspray".

I really should be working on other UFO's rather than starting something for myself, but after all of the holiday knitting, I thought it would be fun to work on a longer term project just for me. So far, so good.

It looks like I will be forced to uphold my resolution to only work from the stash for both knitting and quilting. Goodness knows I wouldn't need to buy another piece of fabric or skein of yarn in order to keep quilting and knitting well into the next several years. The incentive to keep this resolution came in the way of my DH becoming another statistic of this lousy economy. He came home Friday and told me he had been laid off from his job. Ugh! We had been cutting back on many things all along in order to maintain..but now with this new developement, I am forced to bite the abstention bullet. Hopefully something will come along for him soon..but in the meantime, belts must be tightened. Thank goodness knitting relieves stress...be prepared for tons of finished objects!!

Oh, god, Nancy, I'm sorry about your husband. Here's hoping things turn around SOON.

I love that sweater, by the way. I saw it in the Lion Brand catalog and had to go queue it. I can't wait to see yours!

(Oh, and the Eyre Affair is terrific. One of my all-time favorites!)
