Happy 234th America!

Wow..July already! I've been out of school for a little over a week now and haven't really gotten anything done. I supposed that is what vacations are for..but I have big plans for this summer and time's a wastin'!

I have been getting a few knitting projects finished up and squared away over the past couple of months. The onslaught of baby births over these last few weeks have kept baby sweater production in high gear. I managed to finish and give our 3 boy cardigans and one baby girl shrug. Very cute. I will post pictures soon. I also started a birthday cardigan for my mom. She is not a typical sweater person, but I am hoping she will find a use for a short sleeve, cotton blend cardigan in neutral tones. Her birthday is July 19th, and I am more than half way done with it. I hope she likes it.

I also started an Ishbel last night too. I bought the yarn for it back in October at Stitches East in Hartford, CT. and have been anxious to get started on it. It is done in a lovely, midnight blue fingering yarn from Tess' Designer Yarns. I am hoping to work on it more this coming weekend when I attend The Knitting and Crochet Guild of America convention in Manchester, NH. I am really looking forward to the 2 days away..which will probably be my only vacation getaway for the entire summer. I will post photos of the scarf and the event when I return.

I also have to finish planning my daughter's graduation party. Yep..my baby is all graduated from high school now and will be off to Boston in the fall to attend Northeastern University. sniff sniff. I am getting a bit better about the entire situation, although ask me again in September when I pack her off. I don't think I am going to handle it very well.

Well, this posting was only going to be a word or two long and once again I have rambled on about drivel. I will leave with this adorable photo that Jen sent to me a little while ago.. cute baby animals - All Tangled Up

Two of my most favorite things in one neat little package! Now..if there was only some cheesecake somewhere in the photo it would be perfection!
